Configuring Redis Cloud Resources
While there is very little configuration of Redis Cloud required, there are some things that you can and may want to do to tailor your database to your use case.
The security controls for your database are: Access Control by Source IP/Subnet The number of source IP rules that you can add depends on the Redis Cloud plan that you purchased. For example, the 1GB plan allows up to 8 source IP authentication rules. These rules can contain either IP or CIDR notation. In case you require more source IP rules than your current Redis Cloud plan entitles you to, you can upgrade to another plan that supports the number of source IP rules that you need.
Redis Cloud provides a straightforward dashboard that gives you good visibility into each database. Metrics can be viewed on the Metrics tab of a selected database. Use the scroll bar at the top to change between time intervals: last minute, five minutes, hour, day, week, month, and year. If you hover your cursor over the mini-graph for a metric, you should see two boxes with arrows, one arrow pointing to the left and one to the right (depending on which side of the mini-graph you hover on).
You can run scheduled and on-demand backups of your Redis Cloud databases to a remote storage location. Scheduled backups run every 24 hours. Note - Backups are only available for paid subscriptions. Customers with free subscriptions must upgrade to a paid subscriptions to use backups. Subscription upgrade does not cause downtime. Can I export my Redis data from Redis Cloud? Absolutely! There is no lock-in with Redis Cloud.
